Emotional intelligence cannot be ignored, and even in leadership and decision-making, it behooves executives to have empathy and involve their emotions to understand how their decisions would be received by people. The greater the ability of executives to understand themselves and others, the greater the likelihood of them adopting approaches that will create the best results and values for their organization.
