Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo are among the top cities in the Asian region for expats, says a report released by the New South Wales State Government and the independent Committee for Sydney, which seeks to study the level of reception of Sydney among global high-flier expatriate executives.
According to the survey of more than 3,000 executives worldwide, the key issue in deciding “where to locate is workplace related”. While Sydney’s lifestyle is a huge draw, it apparently has insufficient power to sustain a drive of attracting top talent to itself. Part of the survey revealed that the top two reasons for relocation to a particular city of choice include: i) ease of getting around, and ii) safety and security.
