CEOs and their styles affect the entire Organisation

Researchers Antoinette Schoar and Marianne Bertrand who followed the careers of thousands of CEOs from company to company, found that there is indeed an individual style to the way bosses manage, one that moves with them. Some are acquirers like Weill; others Dunlapesque cost cutters, some load up with debt, while others hold cash; some invest in their companies futures, while others focus only on next quarter’s earnings. All these seemingly inconsequential differences in style can add up to big differences in how the overall org behaves and perhaps even how much it makes in profits.
